Islam Perfectly Understands (and Answers) Judaism

Image
Judaism proclaims itself as the monotheistic faith of the Jews, an ethnoreligious minority Judaism aims to guide and elevate with various laws and teachings. It has immense influence, with other religions like Samaritanism, Mandaeism, and Christianity branching off from it. Mainstream Judaism is called Rabbinic Judaism, and is derived from the Written Torah, also known as the Tanakh or the Hebrew Bible, which itself is divided between the Torah ("teaching"), the Nevi'im ("prophets"), and the Ketuvim ("writings"); and the Oral Torah, oral teachings traditionally held to have been revealed to the Prophet Moses (عليه السلام) on Mount Sinai alongside the Written Torah that were eventually written down as the Mishnah , which, alongside the Gemara (Jewish rabbis' commentaries and debates regarding the Mishnah), forms the Talmud. Islam is a different monotheistic religion commonly associated with Judaism by virtue of the two being "Abrahamic"...

The Aorta Argument Does NOT Disprove Islam

Image
Certain Christian apologists claim Islam disproves itself via Quranic verses relating to the aorta, the human body's largest artery, and a Hadith regarding the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ last days on Earth. There are all sorts of reasons why such a claim against Islam is obviously false, and today, I will go over some of them. The Claim Sahih al-Bukhari 4428  records the Prophet Muhammad as having said the following to his wife Aisha bint Abi Bakr (عليهما السلام) during the illness that later claimed his life: "يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا أَزَالُ أَجِدُ أَلَمَ الطَّعَامِ الَّذِي أَكَلْتُ بِخَيْبَرَ، فَهَذَا أَوَانُ وَجَدْتُ انْقِطَاعَ أَبْهَرِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ السَّمِّ" Translation : "O Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaybar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut by that poison." The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was referencing the time a Jewish woman tried killing him with a poisoned lamb as revenge for conquering the Jewish city of Khaybar to pu...

What Atheists Understand the Least About Religion

Image
Religion is a subjective concept generally defined as a cultural set of various beliefs and moral codes pertaining to humanity and their relationship with the spiritual; that is, the immaterial, or that which cannot be directly interpreted via conventional sciences. This piece will hereby mostly refer to religion through the term "theism," as it invokes the image of religion in the metaphysical sense rather than the cultural sense. There are many different religions which all make varying claims on the reality of existence and morality. One thing these theistic traditions share in common, particularly the more philosophical ones like Islam and Christianity, is that many atheists (those who reject all religions) seem to always misunderstand the sincerity of their adherents.  Why May Atheists Misunderstand Theism? A major factor in many atheists misrepresenting theism may be their view of all religions and their teachings as simply archaic rulebooks rulers use to control the ma...

Islam's Astonishing Prophecy of the Siege of Baghdad

Image
Many centuries ago, the Muslim world was making sweeping advancements across many fields of science, architecture, technology, and art under the rule of the Abbasid Caliphate. This era of progress is commonly known today as the "Islamic Golden Age." The caliphate's capital city switched a few times, but under the Abbasids' peak, it was Baghdad, also the capital city of modern-day Iraq. The Islamic Golden Age would see a brutal end in the Mongol conquests of Persia and Mesopotamia. The Mongol Empire under Hulegu Khan would besiege Baghdad before raiding it, committing many atrocities, and killing the Abbasid caliph, Al-Musta'sim. The siege took place in early 1258. But, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who died in the year 632, unambiguously prophecised it in great detail. Although this may sound unthinkable, the rest of what I will write will explain the opposite, with the prophecy serving as strong evidence for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ being a messenger of the All-Knowing G...

Book Review: "The Sealed Nectar" by Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri

Image
I am beginning a quest to research every religious and philosophical tradition in-depth. To start this journey, I am beginning with Sunni Islam. More specifically, I will begin reading The Sealed Nectar , an acclaimed, award-winning, comprehensive biography on the life of Muhammad ibn Abdullah ﷺ, the final Prophet of God according to Islam. Out of respect, I will not do a typical "out-out-of-ten" rating system. The Sealed Nectar Chapter 1: Location and Nature of Arab Tribes The geography of the Arabian Peninsula and the history of its people, the Arabs, are briefly explained. Due to the harsh, sandy deserts of the Arabian Peninsula and links on land and at sea with most nations at the time, the land of the Arabs an economic, cultural, religious, and artistic centre of the old world whilst simultaneously maintaining complete historical independence, never being conquered by any foreigners, including its powerful, expansionist neighbours, the Byzantine and Sasanian Empires. Aft...
