My New Year's Resolutions for 2026

Image
  1. Memorise more Quran. 2. Generally gain more wisdom on Islam and other fields to the point I may help others seek knowledge, too. 3. Start putting out my own writing and MAYBE music. 4. Play more games. 5. Discover more music. 6. Make/keep friends I will not regret keeping around. 7. Learn important skills. 8. Get accepted into university (I graduate high school in 2026). 9. Manage my anger better. 10. Become better at coding and developing a game. 11. Make my prom/graduation celebration thingy/whatever not suck. I also wish for the people of Palestine, Sudan, and other oppressed areas to find victory in their struggles, although that is not really a resolution as I cannot personally make this happen. May God give me and the reader the new year we need. Ameen.

Music Review: "The Slim Shady LP" by Eminem

Image
In the previous music review of this blog, I rated The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem, one of my favourite albums of all time and by my favourite rapper. One of the tracks on that album, Kim, is a prequel to '97 Bonnie & Clyde , a track on The Slim Shady LP , Eminem's breakout second studio album, released on February 23, 1999, causing me to want to review this album. The Slim Shady LP is one of my top three personal favourite Eminem albums, so I will also test its technical and lyrical quality here. Although the art is intriguing, it only describes one particular track and does not represent the other tracks well. The Slim Shady alter ego is described as murderous throughout Eminem's discography, but in The Slim Shady LP , Slim Shady is mostly just a goofy drug addict/dealer who occasionally gets a bit rapey. I think it is interesting, but the nature of surround...

My Top 10 Rappers, and Why I Love Them

Image
Hip hop (considered a genre by many, called "rap" by those who do not view it as a genre) is my all-time favourite genre of music. Rappers are leagues above most artists of other genres. Even in the genre itself, some are clearly superior to others. Many people will make lists of their top rappers, and I will do the same myself. Note that some of the rappers on the list can have their positions swapped (such as 2Pac being able to be swapped with Lil Wayne at times), and some Honorary Mentions can be swapped with some lower-ranking Top 10 rappers (such as Juice WRLD, MF DOOM, and XXXTENTACION being able to be swapped with Tech N9ne and Drake at times). Honorary Mentions This goes out to all rappers who I believe can come close to the Top 10 list, but cannot replace those already on it. In no particular order, I hold them to be MF DOOM, DMX, Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION, 50 Cent, J. Cole, Denzel Curry, JAY-Z, King Von, Nas, DMX, Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Royce Da ...
