How an Ideal Military Would Look Like Under My Control
My friend Mink told me I should write about how a military would look like under my supervision and how it would defend my ideals. I guess I should start by outlining my values first. I'd say my ideal military would be guided by Islamic values, defending Islam and human rights, and never exceeding limits.
Now, what do I mean by "human rights?" I do not mean the American attitude of "we must invade every country to bring them dEmOcRaCy," but rather, fighting against inhumane armed forces like those of the Romans and Persians before the blessed Muslim armies rightfully conquered them. Generally speaking, I believe war should be strictly defensive, as preemptive warfare is way too much of a rabbit hole for me to explore to figure out what is and is not moral.
With my values being put out of the way, I will focus on the military itself. I believe in constantly updating the arsenal of arms in a military, constantly getting the best version of each weapon. I would say the missions an ideal military would. Again, I must reiterate a purely defensive stance, so I would not go and invade anyone I see as simply "authoritarian" and force them into regime change. I also would not engage in many offensive "counter-terrorism" operations, as I believe "terrorism" is an extremely subjective term, which I will save for some other rant someday. I also would not assist fundamentally evil armed forces like those of the United States or "Israel," and I would not fight against resistance movements fighting against these oppressors such as the resistance in Palestine. In fact, despite my generally isolationist attitude, I would support legitimate armed resistance movements across the world.
An ideal military can sustain itself, like how Palestinian freedom fighters manufacture every weapon they use. A military should know and utilise all strategies and tactics, both conventional and unconventional. Some strategies/tactics I enjoy include naval warfare's various methods of execution, armoured warfare, guerrilla warfare, mobile warfare, and urban warfare.
Usually, in worldbuilding, I imagine militaries being divided between an army, a navy, an air force, an air defence force, a gendarmerie, and a space force. I guess my ideal military would be divided between these six entities.
Overall, I believe an ideal military upholds Islamic values of defending the innocent and prioritising armed resistance. I do believe in diplomacy, though, and that armed combat should take place when the push to war becomes a shove.
